Standard 5, Pershore 2
PERSHORE'S 100 per cent start to the Coaching Solutions Division Two campaign was ended abruptly last Saturday.
The visitors were a goal up inside 30 seconds through an excellent short corner strike from Russell Scudamore but Standard levelled quickly before the lead was restored before half-time when Richard Lisle finished intelligently from a pass by James Rayner.
However, they should have been well in front before the break, but unusually woeful finishing let them down.
The second half was a dismal affair from the away team's perspective. Standard equalised and kept their game together to soak up Pershore attacks. Time after time they broke from defence to score three more times in what was a comprehensive victory.
This was a most disappointing performance and it will need to be much improved upon this weekend against an extremely strong West Bromwich side.
