A WOODCHIPPING service which shreds garden waste has proven very popular with residents in Wychavon.
The "shredderman service" aims to help people home compost larger bits of garden waste such as branches and hedge trimmings and keep them at home rather than take them to the household waste site.
The scheme has made 378 visits to households in the district and shredded over 70 tons of waste.
Wychavon's waste management officer Mark Edwards said: " The shredded waste breaks down much more quickly when composted so its nutrients can be returned to the soil."
