INVINCIBLES managed to scrape a 13-8 victory to keep them at the top of the Gilt Edge Short Mat Bowling League despite having a weakened side.
Their opponents One for the Road could have won the game but they missed too many vital shots.
Second placed Torn-adoes also had one of their key players missing but they were not so lucky. Although they played well they lost the first half 11-7 against an in form Untouchables. They won the second half 8-4 which tied the points, but it means they drop to fourth in the table.
The Telly Tubbies had another easy 22-10 victory against Just for Fun and this moves them into second spot. A team that has been quietly moving up the table is Stourport, this week they put together another impr-essive game when beating the Aces 23-13 and this puts them third in the table.
The Crusaders had a tight first half losing it 9-6 to Wribbenhall, in the second half their trio of Brian Taylor, Adam Flood and Alan Matthews played superbly only dropping one end to win 17-1.
Blakedown also had a much needed 24-10 win over Dire Straits to pull themselves back up the table.
