WORCESTER Mayor Allah Ditta was given a taste of Tudor life yesterday when he visited a newly re-opened heritage centre.
But it was not an entirely pleasant experience for the city's Mayor - he ended up in the stocks.
Mr Ditta was at the Tudor House Museum in Friar Street to promote the centre, which is run by a voluntary group of businessmen.
The Worcester Heritage and Amenity Trust (WHAT) received permission from the city council earlier this year to reopen the house as an education facility and tourist attraction.
"At the moment just two rooms of the house are open two days a week, but it is proving extremely popular," said WHAT press spokesperson Melanie Cooper.
"Eventually we hope to open up the rest of it to the public and make it bigger and better."
The museum is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am-4pm.
