Barnt Green 2, Pershore Tn 1
TOWN completed a series of three successive games against Midland Combination Premier Division top five sides when losing narrowly last Saturday.
They never quite showed the form of their previous two encouraging displays and things looked bad for the visitors when they went behind after only five minutes and then saw the hosts spurn a succession of chances.
Pershore reorganised in the second half and looked a much more solid unit, only to allow the visitors the comfort of a two-goal lead on the hour mark when goalkeeper Nathan Smith spilled a harmless looking cross into the path of a home player who converted the simplest of chances.
To their credit, Pershore kept going and, when Martin West pulled a goal back with ten minutes remaining, the visitors looked the more likelier side to score again.
But it wasn't to be although it needed an excellent last-ditch tackle on West in injury-time to ensure that Barnt Green secured all three points.
Town entertain bottom of the table Nuneaton Griff on Saturday in what is a must win game (2.45pm).
