WHILE we are waiting for the arrival of an ornate conservation-style crash barrier to prevent vehicles from crashing through the railings at Win Brook, Bewdley, perhaps the highways department could tackle the cause of the accidents - speed.
My husband has already suggested installing a LED sign near this dangerous bend which would light up when motorists were going too fast. The sign could simply say Slow Down.
We also feel that the sign which is almost obstructed by a tree indicating that there is a bend ahead is much too close to the bend.
Athough we have been assured that the present road surface is satisfactory perhaps it should be resurfaced with an anti-skid material as many of these accidents occur in wet conditions. Or do we have to wait until it is called a "collision cluster site" by the police, as was the case with the Bridgnorth road?
Finally, although we are pleased that a more substantial barrier is due to be built by April, can we wait that long?
