A KIDDERMINSTER woman teamed up with six of her friends for a sponsored 13-mile walk to raise £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation.
Roz Ricardo, 32, lost her husband to heart disease three years ago and so walked with her friends between the north and south Malvern Hills to generate the cash.
"As a group of friends, we'd all been affected by cancer or heart disease in some way and we just wanted to do something to help," said Roz, of Stourbridge Road, "None of us were fit so we knew it would be a challenge to walk those 13 miles."
She added: "We're absolutely delighted at the amount we have raised and can't thank our supporters enough. We enjoyed its so much we are thinking of doing another walk next year."
It took the group five hours to complete the walk.
