A VARIETY of musical styles are on the bill for a showcase of talented performers from Wyre Forest and its surrounding areas.
The upcoming Sunday Night Platform concert, at Kidderminster's Rose Theatre, on November 7, will feature the singing-songwriting of Kidderminster's April Dancer and the tenor voice of Russell Painter, among others.
April, a student of performing arts at Kidderminster College, has recorded a CD fusing classical, folk, pop, soft rock and nursery rhyme pop into a personal style.
She earned acclaim as a finalist in a UK songwriting contest in August.
Russell is currently studying on a post-graduate course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
He has close links with Kidderminster Choral Society and Wyre Forest Young Voices, having toured abroad with the group as guest soloist.
He helped raise £10,000 for Kidney Cancer UK while playing the role of Marius in Les Miserables in Birmingham.
Russell has also helped to raise £15,000 for Kemp Hospice over the past two years.
Earlier this year, he sang at the Opera House, Jersey and has been invited back to perform at other venues on the island.
Also lined up to appear in the Sunday Night Platform are newly qualified actors from Birmingham School of Acting, instrumentalists from Birmingham Conservatoire of Music and Kellie Sam, a singer from Stourbridge.
Guitarist, Steve Downs and keyboard player, Rob Willis, experienced professional musicians, are teaming up to produce something different as a musical team on the night.
Tickets for the Sunday Night Platform are available through the Rose theatre's box office on 01562 743745.
