WYRE Forest residents are being asked to keep an eye out for hedgehogs when lighting bonfires.
The Worcestershire Wildlife Trust wants to ensure that no hedgehogs are harmed during bonfire night celebrations and is encouraging bonfire organisers and families to check their fires before lighting them.
The trust recommends building a bonfire as close to the event as possible so the hedgehog doesn't have time to make itself at home, searching the bonfire for hibernating creatures, using a torch and a rake before lighting and moving any hedgehogs that are found.
