A LUNCH club started in Worcester last year with National Lottery funding, will celebrate its first birthday with a "share party" where everyone is invited to take along a favourite dish.
The Saathi club, run by Age Concern Herefordshire and Worcestershire, is for anyone from an ethnic minority who is aged over 45.
It starts its new season on Monday, November 29, for women, and Monday, December 6 for men, meeting from 11.30am to 1pm at the St Swithin's Institute, Providence Street, next door to the Salvation Army headquarters.
"Saathi means friend, partner or companion," said Carolle Sajid, of Age Concern.
"We want this club to be a friendly, happy place, where people can make new friends, enjoy a meal and take home information that could be useful to themselves, friends and neighbours in the future."
She said anyone of any ethnic minority would be welcome at the one-dish share party, when everyone can share their favourite dish with their new friends.
Donations will be welcomed from those unable to take a dish.
If you would like to obtain further information about the club, call Carolle Sajid or Malik Fayaz on 01905 726652.
