THE Colwall Bird Survey Group has organised a walk tomorrow (Saturday) when the Purlieu area will be explored. Meet at Colwall station at 9am and wear stout shoes, as some footpaths may be very muddy.
Colwall Darby & Joan Club is still looking for a volunteer to take over the running of the club after Christmas. The club has been meeting on Monday afternoons for the last 50 years. At present they are meeting in the comfortable surroundings of Chevenham and enjoy various social activities. Anyone interested should contact Isabel Knight on 540882.
A Christmas shopping trip to Cribbs Causeway is being arranged for Sunday, November 14. Tickets are £6 available from Liz Hallam on 541148. The coach will leave from outside the Colwall Park Hotel at 9.30am and returns around 4.30pm.
Packed audiences at Colwall Village Hall enjoyed the Colwall Players latest production of Arsenic & Old Lace. Those taking part were Dianne Lloyd, Bettie Hedges, Andrew Howie, Dee Lannie, JJ Smith, Angela Meredith, Sue Jago, Darren Morris, Mike Fray, John Denham, Barry Page, Anna Byers, Marilyn Middleton, Judy Roberson and Chris Hetherington. The production was directed by Andrew Howie.
The Friends of Colwall Primary School have organised the annual firework spectacular tomorrow (Saturday). Adults £3, children £1.50. Gates open at the school at 6pm. As well as fireworks there will be a barbecue, bar, mulled wine and sparkler zone.
On Sunday, November 8, the Wyche Free Church, Jubilee Drive will be having a display and sale of Christian literature including Christmas cards and calendars from 2.30-5pm in the church.
