THIRTY-FIVE families are being sought for needy children in Worcestershire.
Worcestershire County Council's fostering and adoption team manager Debbie Key, said it particularly needs households willing to adopt older children.
She said they are looking for families of all backgrounds, whether they are people who have raised their own children and feel they still have something to offer, or childless couples.
The main quality needed is to be committed to the child, she said.
"Adoption is one of the most challenging, but also one of the most rewarding things you can do. It means providing a permanent family for children who can no longer be raised by their birth family," she said.
"Because of new Government legislation, parents and families who adopt will now be entitled to even more support than before.
"While some of our children have difficult pasts, you could be the one that could give them a better future."
Support is available to both new adopters and the children in the way of advice and information from the post adoption team.
There is also financial assistance, which is based on an assessment of household income.
Last year, the Evening News ran a successful campaign to find dozens of children permanent homes.
The Wishing For A Family campaign saw us teaming up with various social services across the country and the British Association of Adopting and Fostering.
The benefits of adoption are to be promoted throughout the county during National Adoption Week, which runs from Monday, November 1.
Anyone interested in becoming an adopter, or would like more information, should call 0800 0282158.
