Malvern Town Council has no control over Belle Vue Terrace, although it has its office there.
The terrace is controlled by Worcestershire County Council and Belle Vue Island by Malvern Hills District Council.
Confused?
The idea of pedestrianising Belle Vue Terrace is not without merit.
Some years ago you reported that a furniture van ran away from outside Warwick House and crashed onto the railings of Belle Vue. It blocked the Terrace for an afternoon.
It was interesting to watch all the Wells Road and Worcester Road traffic using the loop in front of the Post Office and making a T-junction with Church Street. There were no dangers or delays.
Perhaps by adjusting the gradient opposite the Mount Pleasant and W H Smith, a new and safer layout could be introduced. I would have liked to have seen it tried and properly evaluated.
Meanwhile, I often ask MHDC to restore the full length of footpath across the Island where it was blocked near the Elgar statue.
