A MEETING to discuss plans to provide modern sports facilities in Powick was 'a step in the right direction', according to organisers.
Leigh and Bransford Badgers, Powick Football Club, Powick Parish Council and other interested parties met at Callow End sports pavilion on Monday to talk about the project.
The plans would see the temporary pavilion on the site of the former Powick Hospital replaced by permanent changing rooms, kitchen and toilets.
Bosko Medokavic, coach to Leigh and Bransford Badgers, said about seven people attended the meeting and showed support for the scheme.
"The meeting was positive and the outcome was a step in the right direction," he said.
Mr Medokavic said residents who had attended welcomed the plans and said they would like to see greater use made of the site.
The project will be discussed further at a meeting at Callow End sports pavilion at 7.30pm on Monday, December 6.
