AN ex-serviceman from Bromyard will take a leading role in the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph.
Jim Davidson will join up with 80 former members of the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers to lead the parade in London on Sunday, November 14.
It will be the first time in nearly a quarter of a century he has not taken part in the ceremony in Bromyard.
Mr Davidson, aged 75, has been the chairman of Bromyard branch of the Royal British Legion for the past decade.
He was with the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers from 1950-1972, after serving with the Green Howards, based in Yorkshire.
"I'm really looking forward to going to London," he said.
"Some of the men that will be there I won't have seen for 20 to 30 years, it will be a very emotional occasion.
During his time in the army, Mr Davidson fought in Korea, Malaya, Palestine and Northern Ireland, once fighting in three conflicts in three years.
After marrying and moving to Bromyard in 1972, he became an active member of the Royal British Legion in the town and was named as one of Bromyard's Distinguished Citizens three years ago.
