FORGOTTEN midfielder Jamie Gleeson is ready for action back at injury-hit Kidderminster Harriers, according to his current loan manager.
But the tenacious 19-year-old, signed on a two-year deal from Southampton in the summer, is cup-tied for next Friday's FA Cup visit to Port Vale.
Gleeson will play his final game for Eastleigh against St Albans in the FA Trophy today, his sixth appearance after also figuring in an FA Cup defeat to Tiverton.
Boss Paul Doswell was keen to extend the temporary spell but Harriers are short on numbers and intend to recall Gleeson who has made just a Carling Cup sub appearance for them so far this season.
Doswell admitted: "Jamie needed games under his belt. Now with Jan Molby going, Jamie knows the caretaker manager quite well and, from his own perspective, I think he would like to go back.
"His game's all about sharpness and tenacity, and he's been getting that back. It was a slow start for him though as he came here with an ankle injury and has only been playing over the last two weeks.
"I think he's found in terms of the standard there's not a huge gap between the bottom of Coca-Cola League Two and the Ryman Premier.
"He's very determined to succeed at a professional level and he's a bit puzzled by his lack of games at Kidderminster. He's a lovely lad who's done himself credit here."
Gleeson did not make his first-team debut at Southampton but was marked down as a player to watch by nearby Eastleigh from reserve and Under 19 matches.
n Harriers caretaker boss Shaun Cunnington has backed new striker Darryn Stamp to score and create during his one-month loan spell.
The 26-year-old Chester City player scored 19 goals during their Nationwide Conference championship-winning success last season.
tamp was also a proven scorer for Scarborough in the same league but found the goals flowed less comfortably at League Two level with Scunthorpe United and Northampton Town.
However, Cunnington said: "I feel we are at a stage now when we have to start making noticeable changes to the side if we are going to get ourselves out of trouble.
"Our goals for column is poor and we need to do something to try and amend that.
"Darryn did very well in the Conference last season and I'm sure he is more than capable of doing just as well in League Two.
"He has the ability to grab a goal or two himself but will also create chances for others around him."
