BROMSGROVE Rovers blew away industrious Bedworth with two late goals in a game turned on its head by gale-force winds, writes Peter McKinney.

Rovers huffed and puffed to kill off a relegation-battling side 4-1 at home in Southern League Division One West.

Two late goals in a minute from Leon Mitchell ended Bedworth's resistance.

Rovers were aided in the second period by strong winds that made it difficult for the visitors to escape their own half.

The deadlock was broken on the half-hour when Mitchell showed composure to control Kevin Banner's corner, turn and rifle the ball in emphatically.

Bedworth's Paul Spacey crashed a free-kick off the bar but was brought down by Ross Collins on 49 minutes and Lee Moore dispatched the penalty.

Steve Frost recaptured the lead in the 66th minute before Mitchell pounced in the 86th and 87th minutes to hand the home side a flattering scoreline.

First, he was put through by Riad Erraji and his thumping drive crossed the line before the in-form forward completed a flowing break to slot home.
