A SHOCKING performance by Evesham United saw them lose 1-0 at Sutton Coldfield Town and surrender their position at the top of Southern League Division One West.
Despite their off the field problems, Sutton showed far more passion and commitment and deserved to end a run of eight league games without a win.
The Robins on the other hand failed to direct one shot at Royals 'keeper Justin Bray and as a result drop to second place behind new leaders Mangotsfield United.
The only goal was scored on 38 minutes. Former Evesham midfielder Mark Wolsey sent over a corner which Exodus Geohagham headed goalwards and despite Leon Blake clearing the ball, the assistant referee ruled it had crossed the line.
A double substitution at half-time by manager David Busst livened things up a bit for Evesham in the second-half but apart from a couple of goalmouth scrambles near the end, Sutton easily held on for a league double.
