MALVERN RFC are looking at tomorrow's (Saturday) Midlands Two West game at Kenilworth as a benchmark for their chances of promotion this season.
Malvern director of rugby David Robins was heartened by the display against Moseley Seconds last Saturday.
Robins said: "We met a side with National League experience without being outdone in scrum and line. The Moseley coaches were full of admiration, saying that we had the air of a side that should be at a higher level. Our backs were outpaced, as would be expected, but still put up a fine show.
"Tom Green had just landed from a two-week tour of China but showed why he was Hartpury College player of the year last season. With a fully recovered Ollie Banwell giving us more options in the back row, we have a wealth of talent to call on.
"Our sternest league test so far comes at Kenilworth. We know them to be a tough side to beat and they have added to their side with a couple of South Africans in addition to their Namibian international full back. They had a good cup victory away to Old Coventrians so we look forward to an interesting tussle."
The match at Kenilworth kicks-off at 3pm.
