I TAKE exception being called a lemming by George Cowley.

There are a great number of people like me who work for utility companies who have a car to carry out their duties across a very large geographical area.

It is merely a work tool. We don't choose to be sat in a car in traffic. Unfortunately it's an occupational hazard which we could all do without.

Before I was in my current position I went across town to and from work on a motorcycle.

It took up very little space, did no damage to the road surface and returned 90 miles to the gallon. .. something more people should consider.

But there are more than just me. There are home-visiting nurses, salespeople, council staff and so on, who need a car to do their work. Don't tar us all with the same brush.
