Here is a compilation of some very varied and very different music.
It is sung by Swedish mezzo-soprano Malena Ernman - and what a find she is!
She has a wonderfully resonant and vibrant voice which compliments composers such as Bizet and Mozart, but which also favours Duke Ellington and Michel Legrand.
The scope of Ernman's repertoire is vast and she has appeared in a number of roles as divergent as Sally Bowles in Cabaret and as Prince Orlovsky in last year's BBC Proms performance of Die Fledermaus. Talent indeed.
Her range is impressive and her expression immense. Apart from her glorious voice, Ernman is a toothsome blonde, who would grace any performance.
Mats Bergstrom, her accompanist, plays the guitar with skill and daring.
A performance artist in his own right, he trained at both the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and the Juilliard School of Music in New York. Most of the tracks featured have been arranged by him.
My Love features excerpts from Bizet's Carmen, Mozart's Marriage of Figaro plus some Schubert, Duke Ellington and Bo Nilsson.
Different and varied maybe... but with a voice like Ernman's I'm sure she could sing a menu from a restaurant with depth and charm.
What a girl!
