BRAND new bungalows await the old folk of Martley after sheltered housing residents celebrated the completion of a £1m revamp.
Residents of Heaton House joined Elgar Housing Association chiefs to commemorate the refurbishment of the complex, which provides rented homes for elderly people.
Malvern Hills District councillor Barbara Williams, who has been closely involved with the project, presented residents with a clock, water feature and Christmas tree to mark the event.
Vi Amos and Millie Arnold, on behalf of the other residents, accepted the gifts.
Elgar has carried out £1.1m worth of building and modernisation work at Heaton House.
Part of the building was demolished to make way for high quality rented bungalows for existing tenants and part was modernised and improved, with a conservatory entrance being added.
Some residents moved out during the building work, which lasted more than 12 months, with others remaining in their homes.
"This is a genuine example of good partnership working with a cross-section of the local community," said Clare Huyton, executive director of Elgar.
"Everyone is now delighted."
