A WIND turbine could soon be seen in the Teme Valley.
Plans for the generator at Noak Farm Barn, Clifton-on-Teme, were due to be considered by Malvern Hills District Council this week amid fears that a proposed 11m-high turbine will become a blot on the landscape.
Twenty adjacent properties are already connected to the mains electricity supply .
Planning officer Julie Ben-Dyke said: "The main issues are the impact on the area of Great Landscape Value, adjoining occupiers, the setting of the listed building, highway safety and wildlife.
"We consider that this would be minimal within the area."
Planning officers have recommended that the scheme be approved, but this could be overturned by council members.
District councillor for the Teme Valley, Gill Dunne, said: "I have mixed views on wind turbines.
"When anything like this is put into the countryside it sets a precedent that could seriously affect the environment in an area of great landscape value."
Last year, a similar application for a wind turbine at Eden Grange, Newnham Bridge was turned down by councillors.
It has since been resubmitted for consideration in February.
