PARISH COUNCIL: The parish budget for next fiscal year was reviewed and an increase of £100 in the precept was agreed. Gloucestershire Constabulary will be doing a three-month trial period of having a CDC member of staff on board during visits from the Mobile Police Station.
Traffic management was again discussed. The interactive road sign continues to be a source of concern. It was reported that highways agency is pressing the manufacturer of the sign to correct the ongoing problems. Oxfordshire County Council has agreed to put in place advisory signing of the lorry route from Oxford, via A40, A429 and A424, avoiding the steep narrow section of the A44 through the village. An improvement to the traffic congestion on the A40 from Witney to Oxford needs to be made before other more formal measures, such as possible declassification of sections of the A44, can be progressed.
