DANCEFLOOR divas are helping to save premature babies after a Worcester nightclub joined an Evening News campaign.
The Tiny Tots Appeal was officially launched on Wednesday, December 1, after Worcestershire Royal Hospital revealed a wish list of vital equipment needed by its neo-natal unit for special babies.
Since its launch, the appeal has already raised £4,000, with 75 generous Evening News' readers pledging their cash to the cause.
Among the donors are the city's Bushwackers nightclub, the Worcester Operatic and Drama Society and the group's youth section, and a £1,000 donation from an anonymous family whose baby was saved eight months ago by the unit.
Now Tramps nightclub, in Angel Place, has also lent its support.
Sorrel Currass, spokeswoman for the club, said: "Ever since we read an article in the Evening News about the Tiny Tots Appeal we knew it was something we wanted to support.
"We have placed collection tins in all of our venues to help raise funds.
"So far we've collected at least £1,200 and we will be continuing to support this appeal.
"We would like to thank all the customers and staff who have kindly donated so far, and to ask new customers to support this very worthwhile cause."
Among the items needed by the unit are portable breathing monitors and resuscitation machines.
And all you have to do to help save more premature babies' lives is fill in the coupon below and send your donation to the Royal's charitable funds department.
