THREE gardens in the same Stourport road were hit by thieves early on New Year's Day.
Two stone bulldogs, worth £40 each, were taken from the front garden of a house in Buttermere Road between 2.30am and 7.30am.
They were two feet high, natural stone-coloured and very heavy. It is believed a vehicle would have been needed to take them away.
The base of one of the bulldogs was broken off as it was being removed. Two ornamental snowmen were also dragged into the road but were left behind by the thieves.
Sixteen conifers, worth a total of £80, were uprooted and taken from a neighbouring front garden between 1.30am and 9.15am.
In that case, it is believed the offenders were on foot, as one of the conifers was dropped near the junction with Windermere Way.
Between 3am and 7am, two privet plants, worth a total of £20, were taken from the garden of another nearby house.
