I WOULD comment on the article in your December 9 issue quoting county council cabinet member Adrian Hardman regarding the tight squeeze forecast in the council tax review.
At the present time the entrance to Stourport's Burlish Close, with part of the Bewdley Road, is being dug up and narrowed considerably, at a cost of thousands of pounds of council tax money.
It is thought that this is a complete waste of our money by the residents of the close.
We do not see how Mr Hardman can justify it and, at the same time, say the county council is struggling for money.
I would like to remind him that over the past seven years my council tax - and everyone else's in Wyre Forest - has gone up 66 per cent.
For some of those years Worcestershire County Council imposed some of the highest amounts in the country.
The old age pension has risen by 19 per cent in that time.
This cannot go on without causing financial problems for people who do not meet the means test.
It will be interesting to see if the council keeps to the 5.8 per cent that Government has promised for next year.
