SO The Elms day centre in Habberley Road, Kidderminster, is to close.
No mention was made of it also being an adult day respite centre giving, in most cases, elderly parents a well-deserved break.
It seems Worcestershire County Council wants to follow the Government like sheep, cutting back another public service.
There are pathetic excuses, like "it costs too much money".
"There are holes in the roof" - tell us who is to blame for the neglect.
"It costs too much money to heat" - the centre has probably had no heating upgrade for years, if the outside condition is anything to go by.
Let it be made public about the alternative "small units" the county council has in mind.
I would suggest the county council has already considered the land value, and it will not be long before we see it jam-packed with as many houses or flats they can get in to maximise profit.
