INKBERROW moved off the bottom of the Evesham Sunday League Division One after recording their first league win of the season over title-hopefuls Bear.

Inkberrow took the lead through Algar and held on to the interval. Further strikes from Algar and Parker se-cured the win with the Bear replying with an own goal.

Badsey Rec gained much- needed points with an emphatic win at Defford/ Besford Utd. Dave Stanbra hit four, while 50-year-old Steve Bradley also scored.

Wickhamford won a Division Three encounter at Crowle with goals from Houghton and Hercombe.

Eckington grabbed a convincing victory over Bell Utd in Division Four thanks to a Hughes hat-trick.

The second round of the Tewkesbury Sports Knockout Cup was completed with Ambassador comfortably dispatching Moreton Town with six goals coming from Danny James (four) and Billy Hiden (two).

Several third round matches took place with holders Red Horse reaching the last eight with victory at Hampton WMC, the goals coming from Sullivan, Troughton and Harris.

A second-half strike from Gilbert saw Moreton Wanderers edge passed Mickleton Rangers and Bretforton Old Boys defeated Bredon with goals from Malins and Mitchell. Franklin scored for the visitors.

In the Evesham Mechanical Services Subsidiary Cup, Division One Willersey needed a penalty shootout to defeat division four Gate Inn, Duncan Beale and Betley had scored for Willersey with Ballard and Layton replying for the Gate. Mountinneers hit eight without reply against Royal Oak with Pete Boorman hitting a hat-trick.
