BOSS Dave Titterton expects to bring in "one or two additions" to boost his jaded Stourport Swifts squad ahead of their weekend Walshes Meadow clash with Ashford Town.

Swifts halted their slide down the Southern Football League Division One West table with a well-earned 2-1 victory over rivals Bromsgrove on Tuesday.

But Titterton believes the time has come for new faces as his injury-hit squad recover from their tiring festive period.

Although the Bromsgrove win followed defeats to Evesham and Mangotsfield, the boss has been delighted with the effort and commitment of his players during the past few weeks.

He said: "Considering the problems we've had with injuries and illnesses recently I could not have asked for anything more from the lads, they've given me everything.

"It would have been nice to get a few more positive results but the win over Bromsgrove was reward for our hard work and hopefully we can build on that.

"We need some fresh blood now and hopefully I've got one or two additions lined up in time for Saturday.

"I'm just waiting for a yes or no from certain people so we'll just have to wait and see."

Titterton has given his players the week off training to rest various aches and pains and will check on the fitness of Daniel Mason and Andy Checketts who have been laid low with mumps and flu respectively.
