I AGREE with Samuel Richardson (You Say, Tuesday, December 28) on Tony Blair's interpretation of political matters incorporating Christian beliefs.
There are speculations to whether Blair is actually taking communion, a vital constituent of the Roman Catholic faith, which would make him a Roman Catholic.
Timothy Russ, a Roman Catholic priest has even stated in The Times that Blair would have to change his "modus operandi and his way of thinking and working before he could become a Catholic."
Russ was also quoted in The Guardian saying: "He didn't say to me 'can I become a Catholic?' What he said to me was 'can the Prime Minister be a Catholic?''
This places priority in politics over religion.
RUTH SAUNDERS,
Worcester.
