VISITORS to Bodenham Arboretum are in for lots of 'cooing' with a delightful addition to the attraction's menagerie - a baby donkey.
The cute foal was born on Christmas Eve immediately after mum Poppy had finished performing in the arboretum's nativity play.
James Binnian, owner of the Wolverley beauty spot, said: "Donkeys have a 12 month gestation period and we hadn't been expecting the birth until the middle of January but Poppy knew better."
He said Poppy waited until everybody had gone home to give birth explaining that donkeys are "incredibly private animals".
The foal has been named Eve and will be a sister for Poppy's first foal Lily, Mr Binnian said. Both Poppy and Eve are doing well, he added.
The arboretum is open at weekends throughout January and February.
