A RAPIDLY expanding youth club in Bidford is urging people to join its management committee.
Bidford Youth Club for nine to 19 year olds, has been at its current site at Bidford Youth Club on Salford Road for 30 years.
Since the 2002 school year it has expanded by a third; growing from 150 members, to a total of 200 members during the last school year.
The committee, which currently has seven members, meets four times a year, and is also looking for a secretary.
Diane Bennett, from Bidford who is a youth worker at the club said: "We could do with some more people because the youth club is developing and growing at some rate. We don't mind how many come forward. If anybody's interested in young people and helping out with the management committee which is responsible for the management side of the club they should come forward. They don't have to have any qualifications just a willingness to be involved."
The next management committee meeting will be held at the club on Tuesday, January 11 at 7.30pm.
The club is divided up into juniors, seniors and a canoe club section.
The junior club, aged nine to 14 meets on Wednesday nights from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, the senior club, aged 13 plus, meet on Thursday nights from 7.30pm to 10pm, and Bidford canoe club which is part of the youth club, meets during the months of May to September at 6pm on Tuesdays.
Anyone who would like to join the committee as a member or secretary, or who would like to be volunteer, should ring Miss Bennett on 07721 559387.
