AN organisation that looks after abandoned ferrets, including those in Stourport and Kidderminster, has received a national award.
Droitwich Ferret Welfare was presented with a shield by the National Ferret Welfare Society, awarded in recognition of outstanding services to ferret welfare.
Chairman, Ann Badnadge, said: "This is the first time such an award has been presented and we are delighted to have the honour of being made the first organisation to hold the shield.
"We never cease to be amazed at how many of these animals are neglected."
