A PETROL station will be knocked down as part of two major housing developments on a important A road into Kidderminster.
One of the developments will be at the prominent site of the former Land Oak Service Station at the junction of Chester Road North and A456 Birmingham Road.
It will comprise 10 apartments and four town houses while a development on the Birmingham Road at Blakedown will be of seven homes.
The plans were passed at the most recent meeting of the planning (development control) committee at Wyre Forest District Council.
The three two-bedroomed and four four-bedroomed homes in Blakedown will be built next to a development of 14 apartments, on the site of another former petrol station. Vehicle access will be through Swan Close.
Although the Wyre Forest Highways Partnership Unit at Worcestershire County Council did not object to the plan, Churchill and Blakedown Parish Council raised concerns over access for vehicles.
