DROITWICH residents are being urged to join the fight against crime in the region.
The call is part of Wychavon District Council's current process of carrying out an in-depth crime and disorder audit in time for the council's next three-year Community Safety Strategy.
About 4,500 residents in the district have already given their views regarding crime, disorder and drugs issues, which will help plan the next community safety strategy.
But more views are still needed from the people of Droitwich to help develop the plan.
"Residents can play their part on what issues should be tackled over the next three years," said Wychavon's community safety co-ordinator, David Hemming.
Tough approach
Residents have, so far, said they thought a tough approach to those supplying drugs was a priority and another key area was to work more with young people.
As a result problem areas have been identified, police patrols stepped up and drug awareness sessions have been carried out in all four Wychavon high schools.
A majority of residents said they weren't sure which service they would use if they needed help so fridge magnets were produced, showing useful telephone numbers, that could be kept close at hand.
