THIS little pooch is the toast of one Worcestershire village today after he was crowned Pro Plan Pup of the Year.
Banner, a miniature wire-haired dachshund, and his owner Zena Thorn-Andrews, from Kempsey, near Worcester, beat 10,000 others to win the title.
Judges commended Banner on his "fantastic condition, healthy coat, shiny eyes and the spring in his step".
"We're absolutely thrilled to win the competition," said Mrs Thorn-Andrews. "It's a fantastic coup for our village and really puts its name on the map.
"We were really surprised to win."
Mrs Thorn-Andrews is the first UK breeder to have bred more than 100 champion dogs since records began in 1873.
The event was attended by television presenter Shauna Lowry, who was more than happy to give Banner a hug.
