WE start 2005 with an early jumble sale at Berrow Village Hall to raise funds for Berrow/Pendock churches. If you have any jumble for tomorrow (Saturday), take it along to the hall during the morning. Offers of help gladly received. Doors open 2pm.

The main effort of the month will be a giant jumble/anything saleable to raise funds for the earthquake appeal. Once again this will be open to any offers of help. This takes place at the hall on January 24, again commencing at 2pm. So if you have any unwanted Christmas gifts, we'll gladly taken them off your hands. For more details phone Janet on (01531) 650620. Once again it will help immensely if you can bring items to the hall during the morning of the sale.

Rehearsals began in earnest on Tuesday in preparation for the scratch concert at Berrow Church on January 22. The benefice choir, with novice but willing additions under the leadership of Angela Gabb, made a very enthusiastic start in learning and singing a wide repertoire of choral songs. I have to say it is proving most enjoyable. Thanks to the ever patient pianist Graham Choyce.

So on the evening of the concert there will be singing, playing, comedy and poetry. Come and join us for this worthy cause. We need the church full. Tickets are only £3. If you can't make it the perhaps you'd like to make a donation! This will be followed by snacks and drinks and a huge raffle in the church hall. Programme commences at 6pm. Every little bit helps.
