AFTER winning their first six games, Malvern Radar have now only won one of their last seven and rarely looked like stopping the rot with a disappointing performance last Sunday.
MALVERN RADAR 1, CLAINES 4
It was a bit of a drab affair in the first half of this Worcester League division two fixture with chances few and far between. It was no real surprise when the only goal of the half was a bit of a fluke.
Claines were awarded a free kick on the half way line and Andy Price's long punt forward deceived the hesitant Radar defence and somehow ended up in the back of the net. Lee Hooper almost levelled the score right on half-time but his effort was somehow blocked by Darren Garbett in the Claines goal.
Radar's second-half effort was lacking somewhat and Mark Webb helped himself to a hat-trick, his best goal being a bullet header from a great cross from Glen Challis.
Radar struggled to create any real chances with Price and Keith Aingel snubbing out most of the attacks until Mark Brookes popped up in the closing minutes to nudge the ball over goalkeeper Garbett for a late consolation goal.
Hopefully room for improvement this Sunday with another league home match against Littleworth, players meet 9.45am at Victoria Park.
