A NURSE from Upton has enjoyed a white Christmas after competing in the annual army snowboarding championships in Austria.
Naval nurse Jenny Aplin, aged 24, began snowboarding less than a month before the event and was delighted to have the chance to compete.
"I've been skiing, which I love, and when the opportunity came to learn snowboarding with the army I jumped at the chance," she said.
"I'm very pleased with the way things have gone. It's very different to skiing but great fun and I definitely want to continue."
Jenny is currently serving with the Royal Navy Queen Alexandra's Nursing Service and was previously a member of Haslar Military Hospital in Gosport, Hampshire.
