A DAY of fundraising and healing to help victims of the Asian tsunami has been organised by complementary therapists from Malvern.
Treatments including reflexology, Indian head massage and back massage will be on offer in return for donations to the appeal fund.
The day will also give people the chance to show compassion for those involved in the disaster by lighting candles and playing music.
The event is being run by the Janeve Foundation, a Malvern-based charity set up to fundraise for health and education projects in South India.
Organisers Tina Carkeek and Lorraine Page decided to help the tsunami victims because they have visited an organisation involved in the relief operation - The Sumanahalli Leprosy and Aids Community, near Bangalore.
The community's director, Father George Kannanthanam, who visited St Joseph's RC Church in Malvern last October, has emailed them regularly with details of what it is doing to help.
"We're asking people to come and share in the day, light candles and make music," said Ms Carkeek.
"We thought it was good to have an event here because we all feel a bit helpless in the face of all this."
The day runs from 10am to 4pm in a room donated by the Mount Pleasant Hotel, Great Malvern. All are welcome to attend.
