THIEVES used a stolen Range Rover to hijack three cash machines from a motorway service area.
Police say a considerable amount of money was in the machines, taken from the northbound M5 Strensham Services between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
The blue Range Rover, used to pull the machines from a wall, was found abandoned at the scene when staff arrived at around 8am on Saturday (January 1).
Although the service station was closed at the time of the theft, police are appealing for witnesses.
A spokesman said someone at or near the services may have seen the Range Rover, or a different vehicle driving off at high speed, or people behaving suspiciously. Anyone with information should call 08457 444888, quoting 228S/010105.
