REGARDING the letter from Samuel Richardson (You Say, Tuesday, December 28) David Blunkett did not resign because of a adulterous affair with Kimberley Quinn.
The former Home Secretary's private life is his private concern, as with all of us.
It had nothing whatever to do with the way he did his job as a Cabinet Minister.
Mr Blunkett resigned because he appeared to be implicated in giving unjustified priority to the application of a woman to stay and work in this country as a nanny employed by Kimberley Quinn.
In that regard his resignation was correct.
D E MARGRETT,
Worcester.
