Fun and frolics on the high seas will be coming to Malvern with the latest performance by the Worcester Gilbert & Sullivan Society.
The popular operetta, The Pirates of Penzance, directed by Denise Churchett, will be performed at Malvern Theatres from January 19-22.
The story centres around young Frederick, who is on the last day of his pirate's apprenticeship.
As he plans to take his leave, he meets and falls in love with Mabel, one of the many daughters of a pompous Major General.
His loyalties are put to the test in a series of lively adventures featuring bungling policemen, beautiful ladies and soft-hearted pirates.
Around 50 cast members will take part in the production, with Robert Hanna as the Major General and Christine Davies as Mabel.
Peter Key plays the Pirate King and Michael Faulkner stars as Frederick.
Society spokeswoman Mary Hancock said: "The Pirates of Penzance is a very popular show, with lots of movement and music.
"We've got a very good director, a full orchestra and lovely costumes, people always comment on how wonderful they are."
She said the humour, action and songs made the show ideal for people of all ages.
"It's definitely suitable for children and in fact we're trying to encourage more youngsters to become aware of Gilbert & Sullivan," said Ms Hancock.
To promote the performance to children, the society is offering free admission for one child when an adult ticket is purchased for the Saturday matinee.
"The show is very lively, very colourful and very, very good entertainment," said Ms Hancock.
Performances take place at 7.30pm, with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.
Tickets are £10 or £5 for children and students, available from the box office on 01684 892277.
