A nightclub is aiming to boost the coffers of the Asian tsunami appeal by holding a fund-raising evening.
Tramps, in Angel Place, Worcester will be donating £1 for every ticket sold to the disaster fund to aid those caught up in the tragedy - which has killed an estimated 150,000 people.
The fund-raiser takes place on Thursday at 9.30pm and is being supported by radio station Wyvern FM, with DJ Nick Jordan offering his services for free to do a set in the main room from 11pm until midnight.
Collections will be held throughout the night and there will be a prize raffle with items such as pocket organisers and personal CD players up for grabs.
Manager Dean Hill said they had decided to hold the event on a Thursday as it is normally the venue's student night and attracts scores of revellers.
The club has already raised about £600 for the appeal through a collection on New Year's Eve and Mr Hill said he hoped to raise more than £2,000 on Thursday.
"Obviously we're all aware of this major disaster that happened and it's touched us all," said Mr Hill.
"It's been shocking for everybody."
The club's latest charity night comes after its fund-raising efforts for the Evening News' Tiny Tots appeal for cash to buy vital equipment needed for Worcestershire Royal Hospital's neo-natal unit.
The club has already raised £1,200 for the appeal since it started collections at the beginning of December.
Tickets for Thursday's event are £2 for University College Worcester student union members and £4 for non-members.
