A COMPANY based in Worcestershire is appealing to directors and senior managers of security companies to sign up for a weekend training course this month.
The two-day workshop aims to raise the standards of corporate and individual performance within the private security industry, qualities that - according to the Security Industry Association (SIA) - can sometimes be lacking.
Delivered by Train 4 Security, the course is set to take place on Saturday, January 29 and Sunday, January 30, in Droitwich.
Delegates will come away from the course with a SITO (Security Industry Training Organisation) nationally recognised City & Guilds certificate in two areas - Level 2 Certificate of Knowledge for the Professional Security Officer and, secondly, The Advanced Security Officer.
Raise standards
An SIA spokesman said: "One of our main objectives is to raise standards of corporate and individual performance within the private security industry.
"A key element in achieving this will be to raise the levels of individuals' skills.
"At present, standards of training and skill levels in the industry are highly variable and, in general, insufficient to meet likely future demands."
Places are limited and are on a first-come first-served basis. The course fee is £285, plus VAT.
To register, e-mail bookings@train4security.co.uk, call 01905 770 742 or fax 01905 797 900.
