RESIDENTS of the YMCA in Worcester aren't about to let the lack of high-pressure fire-dousing equipment stop them joining the fire brigade in cleaning cars in aid of tsunami victims.
They will be cleaning cars every weekend over coming months with all funds raised going towards the YMCA's international arm, Y-Care.
Car washes will be held between 10am and 4pm every Saturday and Sunday at the YMCA, in Henwick Road, St John's.
"It's been run for a few weeks and donating to a number of charities but now we've decided to have two sessions a week and it will all go towards the tsunami appeal," said project co-ordinator Mel Smith.
"The appeal will be on-going for some months. They've been raising £50 to £60 in just one day so they could be raising as much as £100 a week."
