A PENSIONER in her 70s was left shaken after being the victim of a bag snatch.

The theft happened in Ibstock Close, Winyates, at about 12.50pm on Tuesday, January 4.

The woman got off the number 57 bus in Winyates Centre after she had been shopping in Redditch town centre.

She briefly stopped at the neighbourhood office and then walked into Ibstock Close.

She was approached from behind by a man described as white, about 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build and in his late teens.

He was wearing a dark cap or ski hat and dark clothing, possibly a tracksuit and trainers.

He rushed past the woman and grabbed her old navy handbag, which contained her pension and personal items. He then ran back towards Winyates Centre.

Dc Wayne Cashion said: "The woman noticed a silver car pulling into Ibstock Close at the time of the incident and I'd like to hear from anyone who was in the car to get in touch as they may have vital information.

"The woman was badly shaken by the theft and was screaming afterwards and they may well have heard her."

He added: "This thief has targeted a vulnerable woman and it has left her really upset."
