Review - Jack and the Beanstalk at the Norbury Theatre, Droitwich Spa
THE Norbury's production ticked all the traditional pantomime boxes at their opening night last Thursday.
From an over the top dame and a dancing cow to thigh-slapping rescue missions and an energetic dance troupe the Spa show had it all.
There were some pregnant pauses while a few lines were forgotten, but spirited performances from Jack, played by Pam Douglas, and Dame Durden, played by Brian Gater, carried the show.
Kirsty Bull, who played Miranda, the main love interest, had the difficult job of stepping into the role only a week before the first night, due to illness, but she managed to get through with no major hiccups.
Fancy footwork was provided by the junior and senior dancers who added sparkle and energy to the performance.
The pantomime runs from tonight until Saturday January 15, and then from Wednesday, January 19, until Saturday, January 22. KH
