RECENTLY I phoned Bromsgrove District Council and asked why they had spent £450,000 in refunding us £5 instead of deducting it off this year's Council Tax bill.
Surely the money could have been invested for a short while to gain interest, which in turn could have been used for the benefit of the community.
I was told the Government had told them they had to do it that way! That didn't really surpise me. I was also told many had rung to complain about the situation
Surely our council has someone who can say 'No' to the powers that govern us and act in a way that normal intelligent people can see is the way to go.
